Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Musanze

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, a company representative will greet you and transfer you to Musanze. The 2-3 hour drive offers beautiful views of Rwanda’s rolling hills.

Check in and relax and take in the views of the Virunga Mountains, or opt for a light evening activity such as visiting the local markets in Musanze.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Visit to Dian Fossey’s Grave

After breakfast, your guide will take you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing at 7:00 AM.

Begin your gorilla trek with the help of expert guides and trackers.

Trekking time can vary depending on where your assigned gorilla family is located (2-6 hours). Spend up to one hour with the gorillas observing their interactions. After lunch at the lodge, embark on a trek to visit Dian Fossey’s grave in the mountains.

The 3-hour hike to the Karisoke Research Camp will take you through lush forests and offer insights into her extraordinary conservation work.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking, Mountain Hiking & Twin Lakes Tour

After breakfast, your guide will take you for a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park. These rare and lively primates are found in the bamboo forests, and the trek typically takes about 2-3 hours.

Option 1: Mountain Hiking – For adventure lovers, you can opt for a half-day hike to one of the nearby volcanoes, such as Mount Bisoke or Mount Karisimbi.
These treks offer stunning panoramic views of the park and surrounding areas.

Option 2: Twin Lakes Tour – Your guide will take you to the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera for a relaxing afternoon.

These crater lakes are a great spot for birdwatching and scenic views, perfect for unwinding after the more intense trekking activities.

After completing the activities of your choice, you will be transferred back to Kigali by your guide.

Your guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure.
